Forecasting Transportation Cost Trends with Macro factors
Industry: Supply Chain, Transportation, Retail
Tech Stack: Python, Statistical Methods: Forecasting
I built a time-series forecasting model to predict CPIETRANS using a SARIMAX framework with three external drivers: consumer confidence, average car loan rate, and crude oil price.
The purpose of the project was to test whether macroeconomic indicators could improve transportation cost forecasting beyond a simple historical trend model. This is especially relevant for supply chain, procurement, and budgeting decisions where transportation inflation can affect margins and planning.
